Rental
Cameron Hall, our 2300 sq. ft. exhibit hall is
available for weddings, receptions, parties, conventions, and meetings,
from 20 - 200 people. Rental rate is $200/hour and includes
1 free hour for set-up and 1 free hour for breakdown time. The
Museum does not provide tables, chairs, or catering services, but
can recommend numerous vendors in these areas. On days when
the museum is open to the public (on Saturdays and Sundays), the
hall is available for private use any time after 5:00pm (although
set-up can begin at 3:30pm).
The F.M. Smith Memorial Library is perfect for
small meetings or luncheons for up to 32 people. Rental rate
is $100/hour and includes: 30 minutes free for set-up, 30 minutes
free for breakdown time, 2 library tables (42” x 96”)
16 chairs, DVD, VHS, and video projector.
Laflin Park with its 1.5 acres of grass-covered
lawn and abundant shade trees is available for group outings, company
picnics, weddings, receptions, parties, conventions, and meetings,
for from 40 to 500 people. Rental rate is $9/adult, $8/senior,
and $6/child, and includes tickets for our 50-minute, 10-mile round
trip train excursion.
School Field Trips
The Western Railway Museum welcomes school group visits throughout
the year. The fee to bring your group varies depending on
the size of your group and when you wish to visit. The Museum
is open Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year, and Wednesday
through Sunday from Memorial Day – Labor Day. Hours
of operation are always 10:30am – 5:00pm.
During a regular open day, the fee for school groups under 40
people is simply the regular price of admission, $10 per adult,
$9 for seniors, and $7 per student aged 2 though 14. Groups
of 40 or more paying together receive $1 off.
A special field trip program is available during non-operating
days (i.e. mid-week) September - May. A field trip to the
Museum can offer students an age-appropriate introduction to American
history before the automobile, and includes:
- An information packet full of facts about our historic electric
rail cars, and teaching tools in the form of educational games
and puzzles, as well as grade-appropriate social history.
- Learning about the importance of electric railroads.
- “Operation Lifesaver” presentation, a nationally
recognized railroad safety program.
- A 10-mile round trip ride on an authentic restored historic
electric rail car.
- Minimum fee of $250 covers the first 50 students. Additional
students (and/or siblings) are $5 each.
- Teachers and chaperones: up to 1 supervisor for every 5 students
are complimentary, including bus drivers. Chaperones and
visitors in excess of this ratio are $10 each.
- A $50 deposit is required to hold your date. Full payment
is due on the day of the field trip. We accept Visa, MasterCard,
Amex, Discover, and checks made payable to: Western Railway Museum.
- Cancellations 72+ hours in advance of reservation date receive
full refund.
- Cancellations less than 72 hours in advance of reservation
date forfeit deposit.
- “No shows” are responsible for full fee.

throughout the year. Picnic grounds, a car house tour, and
a 10-mile round trip ride on our restored historic electric rail
cars are all included in the admission price.

group and when you wish to visit. The Museum is open Saturdays

on a first come basis.
